Our existing pram for tweety was proving to be too big to be taken along while traveling. Also tweety can sit up now and thus we needed a lightweight stroller which could be as compact as possible when folded.

Searched around on the internet a bit and found that the one compact form of stroller is the umbrella fold strollers. These are one's which can fold from central line running across their length and thus the name umbrella fold.

Baby product websites have quite a few strollers but mostly they do not show a picture of the folded stroller or the kind of fold it has. Thus a common sign to tell if a stroller is umbrella fold is if the top handles are not joined.

The search started online with babyoye, firstcry and flipkart all pitching in with a few options. The budget was not to go over 4000/- and the options within that range were from brands like Mee Mee, Fab n Funky and Little Wanderers.

Baby Massage: Why and How

Massaging the baby every day before bath has been a traditional Indian custom. Infact, it’s a common practice in India to hire masseurs/Bai/Aya who are proficient in this task on the baby’s delicate body. Initially, Tweety was given this massage by her expert Grand moms but later on when we started doing it ourselves, we searched online to look for correct movements to be made and right way to place the baby for maximum benefit.

Baby Care in Monsoons

As Monsoon time is round the corner, found it useful to gather knowledge on baby care in rains as the humid air is loaded with various bacteria and germs. Saw Tweety scratching her face, eyes and ears couple of times in the day and felt worried about a possible infection.

Cradle Cap in Babies: Much ado about nothing

Cradle cap is a condition where a crusty yellow/brown deposit or flaky dandruff like deposits are seen on baby's scalp. It can occur anywhere on scalp, near ears or eye lids. It is not a good sight to look at, especially if in considerable quantity. However please note, Cradle Cap is one of the most common problems faced by babies, with almost half of all babies affected to some extent.

My tweety had a head full of hair since birth, and although we could see some deposits on her scalp around forehead, we really came to know the size of her cradle cap after we got her the first haircut. She had a big patch starting the center of her scalp till an inch from forehead. This was in part responsible for the cut that tweety got with the razor.
